Welcome!
The Podiatric Medical Practitioners CPD Network has been formed by podiatrists, for podiatrists, to support them in achieving their CPD (continuing professional development) goals. Other medical and health care professionals are also welcome to attend Network events where topics have a shared interest and relevance.
The Podiatric Medical Practitioners CPD Network (PodMedNet) is based in New Zealand currently in the Wellington Region but is open to all podiatrists wherever they practice. There is a particular focus on the CPD requirements of the Podiatrists’ Board of New Zealand.
The Network is largely informal, where collegiality and participation are highly valued and encouraged. Everyone can contribute in some way.

Membership is open to all podiatrists who are of good standing and are registered with the Podiatrists’ Board of New Zealand.
Membership Benefits
Network members enjoy discounted rates for PMPCPD Network educational events, and a range of other benefits. Non-members are welcome to attend but will pay the full fee for each educational event. PBNZ CPD Log -Points Ready
The CPD Network Education Committee is happy to consider requests for specific topics. The Network intends to facilitate a range of timely and relevant education and training events which are sensitive to the needs of ‘real world’ podiatric practice. It is hoped that these events, offered in a friendly and collegial environment, will help members to enjoy achieving their CPD aims, particularly in the context of the recertification programme of the Podiatrists’ Board of NZ

The PodMedNet understands the difficulties of marrying business and personal commitment. We have embraced online webinar technology to replace regular physical meetings.
Events
Our educational calendar will still require short physical events where hands-on participation may be required (eg. CPR) and an Annual Conference is planned to take place each year.
Collegiality
The reasoning behind the establishment of the PodMedNet is to establish a collegial network for educational purposes, rather than for political lobbying. Emphasis is placed upon providing its members with the CPD required in order to fulfil the legislated requirements of the MOH HPCA Act 2003

28/03/2023 – PodMedNet LOBBIES PARLIAMENT OVER THE PHENOL DEBACLE
All Podiatrists have been severely stressed, and their patients health and wellbeing compromised by Medsafe’s ruling on the acess of Podiatrists to Phenol.
The ruling in place produces a barrier to patients’ access to routine podiatric treatment because of Medsafe’s determination that Phenol is now a “Medicine”.
